what does everybody thinks about split grip handles. I like them a lot and don't think I will make another rod with a traditional grip for my self. Only place I wont use a split grip rod is if I make one that is specifically designated as a jigging rod for in the boat.

Who has an ice rod with a split grip and what are your thought on it?

Long rods I'll only buy split grip from now on. Ice rods don't care to much there

I love split grips. I do a lot of decorative stuff there and not above the grip. It adds some flare and keeps the weight back. It also cuta down on weight bigtime if you're using a wood handle.

I don't make my own rods, but I try to find a split grip every time I purchase. I think I feel more with a split grip combined with one of the new no stretch lines.

If you're standing up casting all day, that lighter split grip (at least most of the split grip rods are light) really makes a difference at the end of the day.

I prefer a split to a single guide.

Doesn't matter to me. Balance is more important to this feller.

Standard rod is what I'm accustomed to, and I'm good with them. Cast a lot. I feel like weight loss in the reel might make more of a difference than a 1/2 oz of cork.

I just got my very first split grip. It's a legend extreme or some such.

Took it walleye fishing recently and got skunked!

Wondering if the guy I bought it from maybe sold me a lemon. :;:huh

I gotta say the FK-R guides (yes, you read that right) combined with nano cast further than anything I have ever cast in my life.
