I looked up part numbers and they are different from a 16 which doesnt have start stop to a 17 which does have start stop on the f150. They are different so they may have built them up..different part numbers dont always mean that but being the 16 and 17 are pretty close i couldnt see why they would change the starter unless it was redesigned for some reason. First is the 16 second is the 17.

Yep I absolutely hate this over engineering bullshit, good thing and watch it be the next vw beetle trend, the slate vehicles will be more popular to own for most Americans who are sick of the bells and whistles that continuly break down and cost too much to replace.
This coincides with my riding lawn mower thread where manufacturers cant just leave well alone.
