Was that for individual or trust filings?I was in Scheels a couple of weeks ago. And they told me 7 to 10 wait time. The guy said never more than 10 days. I'm MN and have to go to St Cloud Scheels to get one.
I never asked,Was that for individual or trust filings?
Could a guy go through the individual and then after having it in hand change it over to their existing trust? My name is the only name on my trust.Individual. My last one was 4 days. Got buddies who had approval in 1-2 days.... Trusts are still taking the usual long waits.
I don't know where you went thru. I went thru Silencer Central ( Banish 30 ) and did the paper work at the gunshow. Then it was sent to ATF and that was 5 days. Then sent to Sheriff office where I have a CC. And that took 6 days. Then it was sent from Sioux Falls to FFL in MN and then sent to me 4 more days. It took 15 working days plus weekends.Individual. My last one was 4 days. Got buddies who had approval in 1-2 days.... Trusts are still taking the usual long waits.
Yes, been approved. But how long before you have it in your hands? The wait time is at an all time low!!! The last few I’ve purchased have been approved within days.
I bought one last summer. Bought/paperwork on a Monday. Walked out with it on Thursday of the same week.Yes, been approved. But how long before you have it in your hands?
Individual means it’s got to stay in your possession. When in use, you have to be where the suppressor is.Can someone explain to me what trust vs individual means ?
It needs to be buried with them.Something I never really thought of but what happens if the owner of a suppressor dies and it is not in a trust? Does the suppressor need to be turned in to uncle Sam?
Thank you for the explanation ! Learned something todayIndividual means it’s got to stay in your possession. When in use, you have to be where the suppressor is.
Trust allows you to name trustees that are allowed to use it outside of your possession. As an example, if you have a child (of age of course) who hunts on their own, a trust allows them to use the suppressor without them there. Or, if I wanted to leave one w/my Father in law for him to use, I could add him to my trust and he can use it.
Trusts take longer to approve. Approximate times based on friends who’ve gone through the process relatively recently, 2-3Mo for a trust vs. a week or two for an individual.
Nope. It just takes a bit more paperwork.Something I never really thought of but what happens if the owner of a suppressor dies and it is not in a trust? Does the suppressor need to be turned in to uncle Sam?
