Guys and gals, we will be hiring 4 officers in ND and SD in the next few weeks. These are federal Leo positions. Also known as Federal Wildlife Officers. I will post the announcement when it comes out but it’s only going to be open for 9 days on usajobs.gov. Depends on qualifications but starting is 40,000 and tops out around 100,000 non supervisory. Gs-5 to full performance gs-11 in 3 years of being fully successful in your performance ratings.

Mandatory retirement age is 57. So if ur employed at 37 u get ur full 20 yr retirement. There are exceptions for past military years or other 6c covered positions like fire.

Can an experienced CBP officer transfer to USFWS if they are over 37 and carry their years of gov service with them to be applied to the 20 year benefits?

I'm no expert, but i would think your federal service would transfer over.

Only if the CBP Officer position is 6c covered.

Exceptions are for Fire, Law Enforcement or any public safety positions.

I know for a fact when comparing biologists mant states pay more, I think even North Dakota. For my work the last I knew private lumber companies were paying 37% higher for entomologists.

My longest day was from 6:00am to 4:00am the following days. Trying to meet a self imposed deadline. I went to work an hour early every day for 24 years. I didn't for the last 13 since my supervisor thought it was his time.

Blanket statements are rarely correct. Google GSA salary schedule it will give you federal salaries. Keep in mind it includes all benefits. They do it that way so they can tax benefits.
