Retired two years ago but have two part time jobs just to make a little money for new toys. One job is full time running from about the end of April to the middle of June. The other is ad lib from the beginning of June to the end of October. Second job is when I feel like working and gives me a lot of flexibility to fish or prairie dog hunt whenever I want. In between I make hay for my horses and do yard work around home. My advice is don't work a day longer than you absolutely have to unless your job is more fun than your hobbies. Life is too short to die at your desk/tractor/wheel and you can't take your left over money with you. Your family won't love you any less if you die poor as long as you spend time with them while you're here.

I get 15 days a year as a manufacturing engineer. After 10 years with the company it bumps up to 20 days.

Parts/Service management for large farm. 19 years full time a couple winters part time before that. Max out at 640 hours. Paid holidays (pto reimbursed if working on holiday), bereavement leave, extended health issue leave. Due to the nature of my position it's hard to take more than a few days off at a time. Try to use up a couple weeks around Christmas and new years.

I work on commission, and earn residuals as long as my customers stay with me. I get zero vacation, but come and go as I please, at my own expense.
Most days I work

I'm an Engineer for Northrop Grumman, Aerospace sector. Currently i get about 140 hrs of PTO a year. Come July I'll get a little bump in accrual as it'll mark 5 years on the job. In addition to 11 paid holidays, it's nice having xmas week off, paid. I also work as 4/10 schedule with extremely flexible hours, so i can take 4-5 day weekends without using any vacation. I can also work remotely if needed, which adds even more flexibility.

Much like Ponyroper, I retired 2 years ago, but did not pick up and side jobs, so I hope that the finances coordinate themselves with my hobbies and habits............therefore, 365 days of vacation.

Never had anyone do my work for me when I went on vacation. Always had to catch up when I got back, so I guess I have never had a vacation until I retired and that takes a little getting used to.:raisin:

Mine coal for as long as the liberals will let us, accrue vaca at a rate of 5.5 hrs / 2 weeks and that increases yearly by a set amount, must use 80 hours a year or lose it no maximum on accrual amount.

I work for the railroad. Only been there for two years. I get 80 hours. But freshly furloughed last Thursday so I guess the summer is mine. Before I got furloughed we bought kayaks for all five of us. Been out twice already. Gonna be a fun summer
