It's going to be built by the sound of it. It's really a catch 22. It's going to cost a ton of money to bring the old airport up to standards to continue CRJ service, TSA, etc etc. The feds are kicking in somewhere around half of the new airport. The land the old airport is on is worth a pile of money. So it'll probably be a wash or close to it, if the airport actually comes in as estimated. Which we all know won't happen. So then they'll tax the hell out of us to pay for their new airport. The city is already 200 million plus in debt which I doubt they will be able to re-pay. They went all hog wild anexing in property into the city limits. The state kept telling them to not worry, take on the debt and we will get you the money. Well that didn't happen as anyone with half a brain would have known. They will probably be the first city in ND to file for bankruptcy.
