(they have a “man camp” set up for the rest of the crew, I did that in my younger days. No thanks)
What's the story here?

Too much booze and nonsense and nowhere to get away from it?

Maybe they'd set up a separate section for the "too old for the nonsense" group?

Camping in winter just plain sucks and so does hotel living. My advice. Send me a pm with your number. I have a buddy that lives 50 miles from there that has a big house and open to renting a room for a working man. He also has friends in the Ellendale area that also rent rooms that might have options for you. When and if I get your phone number, I'll call you with his number and maybe you two can work something out. Might help you find something a whole lot better than anything in this entire thread. Maybe help you out a bit.

I wouldn't want to live in a camper in the winter for 2 weeks much less 30. Have you looked at maybe renting a house with some coworkers?
Any local houses for sale? Buy, rent out rooms to your fellow workers.
The Data Center project has already slicked up any available short-term housing to buy for project completion. I guess you could see who might be finishing their part of a project and maybe be able to work out something with them.

I've owned 2 campers. A 26' with 1 slide and currently a 38' w/2 slides. I use them starting mid-May to Mid-Sept. On a chilly weekend the heater runs a whole bunch to keep it in the 60's and will go through 1/2 of a 30# tank, minimum. Mine has zero skirting. If I were going to have a camper over the winter, I'd want a ~100Gal+ sized tank and a contract with a propane provider to check and fill it often, minimum weekly. It'd be a semi full-time job managing multiple 30# or even 100# tanks on your own.

If I were going to stay in Aberdeen for a project in Ellendale I'd want to be @ the Ramkota on the N side of Aberdeen just for ease of getting in/out of town. I'd try to avoid anything on Hwy 12 as it's quite congested and can REALLY be a pain during harvest or stock-sale days when semi traffic is heavier.

Apparently, there aren't a lot of savy businessmen in that town. One would think that they'd have already readied some housing to rent out for the workers. I'm not sure how much the long term population will increase this was a no brainer.

It won’t increase population by much. It started over 2 years ago we were hauling material. So anything available went along time ago.

The now defunct mancamps here in the patch had express rules against booze on site.

I believe they also had some quiet hours, but its probably far from ideal living in a big group home, with random jackasses.

risk of fire and carbon dioxide would be the big worry imo. Forced air when its 35-40 degrees out seems to run constantly. I cant imagine at 10 below. We had a guy put haybails up and around his 5th wheel when i had a campground spot at DL. Supposedly the guy would S & S in town at a gym. No water. He would have to carry water i guess. Not worth it imo
