Or hornets as I call'em are a problem lately, damn ground hives and man are they aggressive, don't be fooled when someone says get'em at night, well they got me pretty good last night,.have 3 nests so far that I know of,charcoal lighter fluid really pisses'em off, spray bee killer foam helps some but still going strong, not she how big these colonies are but its a shit load.

Any ideas?

A shop vac with some water in the tank. Put the nozzle at the entry and let it run for a few hours at the end of the day. Do this for a couple days and it should take care of the hive. PS- dont open the shop vac for a few days when you are done..........

I think those underground colonies can get pretty big, I had a pretty good sink hole in my yard from one I took care of a couple years ago. I sprayed them down good and poked a garbage bag in the hole with a stick. I wasn't in any danger of fire so first I used the big bertha torch and kilt a bunch of them as they were coming out of the hole. After thought is the heat probably has a good affect on the spray. I had good results anyway. About 3 weeks ago I sprayed a nest that was bigger than a basket ball on a warm night and a lot of them lived and relocated, now we have them in the yard getting water from the bird bath so watching them they fly back home and they are making a bee line Flying towards an building so I gave wife fair warning to stay out of there. It's different this year, They are not in the strawberries . In past years they literally hollow out big strawberries and eat them from the inside out, this year no problems.

I have them buzzing around my strawberries. I have gotten about 1 1/3 strawberries total this year, thanks to these little thieves.

Watched a small wasp kicking a big Bumblebees ass when they were trapped in a window screen , About 1/3 the size but it was mighty. When I checked on them later it had killed the Bumblebee.

We have been wondering what these are eating because on a normal year the wasps would have taken over . Garden didn't get pollinated very well this year so I might have to get some advice from lycan and start a small colony of honey bees. One thing that just entered my mind is we have a canola field this year, Might be why they are leaving the strawberries alone ?

I had good luck with the vacuum. but they were going into the space where the concrete steps met the foundation. used some duct tape to make the entry hole small and tape vacuum nozzle in place, ran it for two weeks, didn't open it for months. about 8" of carcasses...

I have a bug a salt weapon, need to be inches away and straight on shot just to stun a fly.... need to work up a wildcat load.

Found 2 holes in my back yard so far. Lawnmower gets thise assholes coming out pretty fast. Had some of the home defense spray. Shot a bunch down the hole and it seemed to work. I think any that try to leave that hole get it stuck to themand they eventually die.

Velveeta.... minus the ET
Mater of fact today my 3 yr old boy had one stuck in his hair and told him to wait for me to get it out, of course he didn't and got stung in the finger.... huge ass colony in my neighbor's tree stump I found out... question is are they going to just find a new home in the yard if I hook a chain and tear the stump out? I could wiggle the stump by hand last year so figure a 6" strap and good tug it should come out.... or just burn the stump?

Hate those little bastards. Worst is in the fall when I'm cleaning ducks outside and they think they need to get their share. Love meat I guess. Also makes every fallen apple a potential live grenade as they eat those too.
