My buddy has been procrastinating off his once in a lifetime cow elk tag. He has gone out a couple of times but it is difficult as he lives in Fargo. I felt bad for him because time is dwindling and he wants to try going out this weekend. Does anyone have any help for him? I figured I would ask...
What do you all use for leader line on your lindy rigs? I have been using Seaguar Red Label Fluorocarbon, but I have read that a lot of people like mono. The reason being is that fluoro sinks and may cause the bait to drag bottom? I am not sure about that. Just looking for some input!
The jiffy pro4 lite is the worst auger ever made. period. end of story. Unless of course you want an unreliable auger that wont start, and an owners manual that the Jiffy customer service said was a "Typo" which lead to a very expensive repair shop trip. Seriously, I will never buy a jiffy...
That book came out in 1998, but there has been "treasure hunting" going on on Oak Island for 220 years. From what I have seen, if anything the book is loosely based on the legend not the other way around.
I personally like a lot of tension on them. I would rather have them wound tight then have line get lodged deep in the reel when too loose and hooked on something. Same theory for me both summer and winter.
Just got the Baffin Titans and I have very high hopes for them. I have heard phenomenal things about them and they are unbelievably comfortable. Gonna throw some poly sock liners and redhead merino wool socks and should be toasty.
I can't stand power pro ice line. It is coated with PTFE but that does not help whatsoever. It will absorb water like crazy and freeze up. I have tried a couple kinds and so far the best has been fireline. However, that has its flaws too. I will be interested to see what everyone says here.
For sure, there was birds flying in on us down south. However, you could definitely tell they wanted that north end due to the wind. I was shocked at how many scuds were in that pond. Our gear and waders were just coated. It was kinda gross. haha
Hahaha we figured you guys barely beat us!! We didn't know by the headlights if you were a farmer or another hunter on Saturday. We figured you guys would do pretty well on that north end. It did not pan out quite as nicely for us, but we got some shooting in. We will beat ya out there next time...
Yes, you can now jog with the new Terrova! And yes I am looking for more reassurance, because I had never considered motor guide until my roommate talked about bad experiences with Minnkota and to look towards the Motor Guide route. So now I am just comparing. I have a good battery, but a 24...
That's what I have seen, the xi5 had better spotlock. But the 1 year old minnkota I guess is not the greatest representation, because they just redid their GPS algorithm for spotlock. However, battery is a huge concern for me. I cannot run an onboard to charge the battery with my big motor...
