Since I saw pictures of alligator gar in books in my elementary school library 35 years ago I've wanted to see them in real life. We attempted to take this trip in 2020, but had to cancel due to covid.
After 3 years of research and following the local fishing forums and Facebook pages I rented...
I cleaned my first walleye with sand flesh (myofibrogranuloma) last week. I caught it in the tailrace, and seen another one my uncle caught on sakakawea this spring. How common is it? Any one know what causes it, or how it's transferred?
What's your opinions, experiences, favorite brand fish attractants. Looking to try some new ones on cranks n jigs. I can't seem to find one thats better than the other, and fairly confident they're more of a confidence booster for me, vs the fish.
Casting the tailrace last night I caught a 4-5lb whitefish. I've heard they're really good smoked, so decided to keep it for a taste test. Bled it out right away, got it home and started to fillet. I assumed the meat would be dark and oily, like most popular smoking fish, salmon, mackerel...
Any place in or near Minot do it? My prop has a slight wobble when you spin it, and I've heard they can straighten the shafts right on the motor without taking the lower unit apart.
I've recently tried these off brand lines, and as far as I can tell, they're as good, if not better than the name brand stuff for 1/10 the price. It's available in waaaay more options as far as color, length, and lb test. An 1100 yard spool runs about 20 bucks w/free shipping on eBay or...
My yamaha 4 stroke kicker motorhas a stream like it was drinkin beer all night, however, my 96 mercury 150 has the kind of stream you have right before a long drive when you dont really gotta go, but you go anyway so you dont have to pull over.
Its always had kind of a weak stream, just...
So this story came up tonight, and I did some diggin and found the pics burried on my puter.
Years ago I was fishing the tailrace with a buddy, and as usual we were fishing late at night and caught some walleyes. We head to the cleaning station, I get out and of course its pitch black out so...

Im finding alot of gray area on the topic of the legalities of shooting feral cats. One site says its illegal in all 50 states under cruelty laws, another site says some states have open seasons on them...anyone know where ND stands.
Has anyone on here caught more than one or two a day on Sakakawea? They fight hard and hit a jig like a brick, so far all I have figured out for them is a jig n a crawler on rocky points...and even that only gets me the occasional one. Im also wondering if theyre bigger in certain parts of the...
Finally got around to stopping in there and the size of the store and selection blew me away, its about damn time Minot got another sporting goods shop. Oh and they have jumbo graded minnows!
Are peregrines anything rare in North Dakota? Ive got some nesting in my back yard, and wasnt sure if its a big deal or not. Dont know if its something to report to game n fish or if theyre common as redtail hawks.
Theyre not scared of me, i can get within ten feet of one before it flys away...
Up on the hill on the east side. Looks like someone leaned it against their vehicle and forgot about it before they drove away last night. Its a pretty nice combo, PM me the description and you can have it back.
So we rented a houseboat on lake vermilion in minnesota and i noticed a sign on the docks mentioning tipping the dock staff. What is average to good? I dont know if its 10 dollars or 200? I searched online and the normal dock service tips seem to be 2-5 bucks, wich seems real cheap to me...
