    Lake Access Post Storm

I saw a bunch of ice castles/pickups at totten trail from hwy 83 when I left this morning. I didn’t go down to check it out, but it seemed like they were getting around ok. Not sure how it looks after this wind and snow we got today. This is the cabin ramp, BTW:

    Lake Access Post Storm

Took the family and the ice castle out to Audubon (cabin ramp again) for Xmas eve festivities on the ice. Quite a bit tougher getting around compared to last weekend. We spent the first 90 minutes getting unstuck. Wife and kids were thrilled to say the least. We ended up taking off before...

    White Earth Bay access

Anyone know if you can drive out from the boat ramp? Me and a few old college buddies were planning to take my wheelhouse up this Wednesday for a few days, but if it’s drifted in badly from this Xmas storm, we may reconsider. A couple guys are driving like 8 hours, so any info would be greatly...

    Lake Access Post Storm

Took the ice castle out to Audubon today. Cabin site has been plowed all the way to the boat ramp. Someone has also plowed a path on the ice for a ways out. Even going off the path, travel is no problem. Fishing, on the other hand, is terrible. One Pike all day. Hoping for a morning bite.

    Lake Access Post Storm

Cool. I’ll give it a try and report back here tomorrow. I did stop by there last week before the storm and confirmed 15” of ice. So I’m not worried about ice, at least in the area I checked.

    Lake Access Post Storm

Am I crazy for hauling a wheelhouse up there tomorrow? Was going to try the cabin ramp.

    Identify these tracks

My old man sent me some photos of some large tracks in his garden. East Minot. Big dog? Mountain lion? Sasquatch?

    Sak access - Centennial

Anyone been out on the east end since we got all this wind and snow? Can a guy get back to the Centennial boat ramp with a pickup right now? Thinking about going out tomorrow.

    Bitter and Waubay lakes, SD

Never fished this area, but a group of us rented a place and plan to fish there for a couple days starting this Tuesday. Anyone have any experience/advice? Targeting walleye and perch. I’m not looking for your secret spots, just looking for advice on decent access points, depths for this time...

    LOtW Sleeper ice houses

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll check some of these places out. I'm on the fence about the sleeper, but a couple others in the group seem to be convinced it's what they want. I'll share the fact that the fish don't bite at night. I'm hoping the ice is good enough to drive on by late...

    LOtW Sleeper ice houses

Me and some old college buddies are looking at booking a sleeper house on lake of the woods this December. Just googled and there are tons of options to choose from. Anyone have any experience with any of the resorts out there that offer sleepers? Looking for some recommendations, pros/cons...

Slipped Pontoon - trolling motor batteries

That's actually really cool, I didn't know this existed! I'm not good with electrical stuff, but I don't think the alternator on my particular outboard has enough output for this. The product manual says you need 35a minimum alternator output to power the 3 bank version of their charger. The...

Slipped Pontoon - trolling motor batteries

It's a 36v TM, so 3 deep cycles. The big motor is a 115hp merc 4 stroke. Are you suggesting I can charge the 36 volt system with the starting battery? You know I never thought to check with the marina. This will be our first year at southport...not sure if they have power at the slips or if...

Slipped Pontoon - trolling motor batteries

Yeah I'd say 10-12 hours max per weekend is all the use it would see. That's probably a high estimate. I thought about solar but figured I'd need such a giant array to charge 3 batteries it's probably not realistic. The more I think about, maybe it's not such a huge deal to pull the batteries...

Slipped Pontoon - trolling motor batteries

I've been thinking of adding an electric trolling motor to our pontoon which sits in a slip at Southport for 90% of the summer. Trying to think of the best way to keep the batteries charged. Anyone have an elegant solution that doesn't involve removing 3 deep cycle batteries (it's a 36v Terrova)...
