There's water standing in spots I've never seen, and I mean NEVER, even spring time. I don't get out as much in the spring though so who knows. lol

There was certainly a certain amount of pheasant depredation from the heavy snowfall, as well. From the Bismarck area receiving 17" of heavy wet snow, up through Carrington receiving 24" of heavy wet snow, the pheasant likely tucked in to get out from the blasted winds and were buried. No doubt that a number of that local population of birds suffocated and didn't survive.

Is there any concern with flushing out the majority of the smelt from Sakakawea with these releases?

Not usually an issue on Sakakawea since the smelt have deep Coldwater habitat throughout the lake, not just in front of the dam.
