Went on tour Pembina County

​We up to the homeland and had breakfast in Mountain with an old high school friend. Traveled about 7 miles miles of backroads along the easterly side of the Pembina Hills. Also traveled along the south side of the sand hills for about 4 miles. Saw over 200 or so deer in various sized herds.
Also to my surprise many coveys of Sharptail Grouse. Did not see any Huns though. Not a Pheasant in sight. All must of got shot out last season.

Pembina County residents are the best pheasant hunters around! Not seeing pheasants up there is proof.

im surprised you didnt see the rooster at the junction of 32 and 5. we had a decent population of sharptail last fall but pretty much everything got hayed last fall so zero cover to survive this winter,

Which corner of 5 and 32? The Walhalla going north or the Mountain going south. All the deer and sharp tails were in mostly black fields.

Pembina is the pheasant Mecca of the upper Midwest. I bet some more will migrate in from Canada.
