    What would you do

    WOW, things sure have changed since I was a kid. If I'd been the bully and the girls Dad had seen it I'd have got my ass whipped on the spot and then taken home and got another ass whipping from MY Dad. I do think this Dad could have done things a little better though.

    LOL, yup I grew up in CO at 9000' and used that trick more than once growing up. So far I have 27" in the yard, 4' drifts and it's still snowing a little bit. I think it's great, we need all the moisture we can get.

    The kids I see in my hunter ed classes seem to do well with the 243, 260, 7-08 class rifles. Enough power to get it done without a lot of recoil to teach bad habits (from flinching to wanting to quit shooting).

    I have a couple of big calibers 300 H&H, 375 H&H but my go to elk gun is my featherweight Model 70 Winchester in 270 Win with a Leupold lightweight VX-II 2-7 power scope. I've killed over 50 elk with it, I started with 130 gr Rem bronze point or 130 gr Win silver tip but use 130 gr Barnes now.
