    Youth Bow - Suggestions?

My oldest boy, 7, is just getting his first taste of archery. Anyone have any suggestions for a brand, with a bit of adjustability in the pull weight and length? Haven't had a chance to do much shopping around yet, and I'm not huge into archery, I just dabble, so not sure what's good and what's...

    Plumbing Question

Should have mentioned - this is in a manufactured home (also see "double-wide trailer"). No basement or heated crawlspace, just cold crawlspace and belly tarp.

    Plumbing Question

Hey everyone, thought I'd pull on the experience from others here, as I'm no plumbing master. I'm working on a honey-do item and we're converting a storage closet into a more organized food storage space with some shelving. The previous homeowners had moved the clothes washer and dryer from...

Yes, doesn't look like any of the fill/patch has chipped out.

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

I took your advice before the hunt on Saturday. The spring had a little gunk on it but not too bad. I don't belive that did much for me, unfortunately.

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

Well, the JB fix didn't solve the problem, at least not yet. About 10 rounds in, the spent shells started locking up the action again. Might have to borrow my wifes' 870 for the rest of the season. Haven't had any luck tracking down a replacement 870 Express Super Mag barrel 😑

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

I am an engineer, just not the mechanical kind. The JB weld has a pressure rating of 5kpsi, but with it being on the wall of the chamber where the brass sits, I would think that would help to hold it in place. I'm sure it'll wear down/off over time, a d that this is only a temporary fix, but...

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

It stayed in place, no chipping any damage to it that I can see. Fired off only about 12 rounds, but it's looking promising. Taking my boys on a dove hunt in the morning, I'll report back with field results sometime this weekend.

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

Well, the Bubba fix seems to have worked! Took the 870 out over lunch break to test out some known problems ammo and there was no more having to mortar the buttstock on the ground! The extractor did slip off the couple of Kent shells that I tried, but that might just be a weak or dirty spring...

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

Not yet. I filled most of the pits with JB weld and sanded them flush, but noticed that I missed a couple spots, so had to do it again. Hoping to have some updates within the next week or two.

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

Think I found the main issue. Don't know why I didn't think of it before, but I put a borescope in the chamber over lunch to get a better look, and spotted this nastiness on a portion of the chamber, at the base of where the shell rim would sit. Strange that I don't see impressions from this...

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

It usually doesn't have a problem extracting the shells, mostly just has problems cycling the action rearward after firing. I'll check it out though.

Rem. 870 Express - Super Mag

I've got a 12 gauge 870 Express (I know, it's a cheap, CHEAP firearm - bought it in college from an acquaintance) that seems to be kind of picky on ammo. The action "locks up" after firing, mostly with cheap Winchester Super X, but also happens at times with Fiochi. Low and high brass. I've...

    Boat Trailer Wheels/Rims

I found some bad sidewall damage on one of my boat trailer tires over the winter, and I'm going to replace both of the tires for good measure. The tire that's still good will become my spare, as the spares that I've got are in tough shape too, and they're old anyway - wheel size B78-13. I'm...
