Message: <blockquote data-quote="KDM" data-source="post: 92109" data-attributes="member: 314"><p>Trout are slow, fat, and shiny on the sides.  NOT a good combo for being a small fish in the Missouri River.  That being said, I think the hardest hit has come from the lack of smelt being run through the dam in the last few years.  NOT counting this last year as holy floating fish batman have there been smelt coming through.  Being a smolt in the tailrace sans LOTS of other dinner options, probably didn't bode well for multi year survival to a catchable size.  The gajillion gulls, terns, and pelicans at the tailrace probably got their fair share of surface feeding trout as well.  Just my armchair SWAG (Sophisticated Wild Ass Guess).</p></blockquote><p></p>
