I just bought a 1/2 ton Ford Supercrew with the 3.0 Powerstroke. I just couldn't justify a 3/4 ton. It is my daily driver and will be pulling Yar Crafts for up to 10k miles/year. 2750 miles so far and I love this thing. I have had 2 Tundras, Ecoboost, 14 Sierra, 12 Cummins, and a few beaters. I am seeing 21-22 in mixed town/hwy driving and 23-27 mixed interstate/hwy2. It rides beautifully, is quiet, and pulls as good or better than the Ecoboost with economy in the mid teens. In 2-3 years I'd like to delete it; but for the time being I would like to keep warranty; especially with this being year 1 of a new production motor. I cant imagine better mileage with tuner and delete; but would most definitely see improved life of the motor. Sorry, not much help for your issue unless you are looking into a 1/2 ton. For the 1st time in many years I can say "I love my truck".
