Message: <blockquote data-quote="Traxion" data-source="post: 485912" data-attributes="member: 983"><p>There’s no win to this other than a straight lottery.   Every state that has a preference system sees point creep.  SD has IMO one of the better systems.   They allocate a small # of tags to those with little or no preference.   As you have more points, there are categories where more tags are allocated to each group.  It’s not perfect, but in theory the first time kid applying still has a chance.  And the guy with 20 points (me) has a much, much higher chance.  When tags outpace supply there is no option.  I feel bad for those with lots of preference but seeing a kid who gets super lucky on his first year of applying tag a bull puts a pretty big smile on my face too.  I know there are a bunch of old guys enjoying the same experience that year too and that seems to be the best middle ground IMO.</p></blockquote><p></p>
