Well when push comes to shove liquid water is considerably more dense than powder therefore the sleds do extremely well on it so long as you don't try to stop! In this video these are older model short tracks and still they excel at running over water.....well till one of them stops!;:;badidea would guess he killed the motor with sucking in to much water. The thing about this scenario is that there are two things we would need to know 1. Was he weighted down with gear or pulling a house 2. If not did  he do what alot of people tend to do just by Instinct and slam on the brakes instead of punching the throttle? I've only water run once and it was in CO at night and only a ten foot hole.
