If you already have a 270WSM there is no need to have the 6.5 PRC. I have a 270 win mag and a 6.5 PRC and know I am doubling up, but I wanted the 12lb rifle and ability to adjust my trigger down to 4 ounces. I also have a couple of 6.5 Creedmoors. I have shot the 6mm Creedmoor and they would be nice as woukd the .25 Creedmoor. However if you already have a light caliber I would go 6.5 Creedmoor. This year simply for experience I started pushing the EL-VT to a modest 3250 fps. Very low recoil and for coyotes doesn't give up anything to 1000 yards. With Berger 140 VLD I have killed good size white-tail to 758 yards. I don't remember which state I was in S Carolina or Georgia, but I was in a Bass Pro a couple days ago and a fellow shopper and I had a great discussion in the bullet isle. He said he has a farm up in N Carolina that he gets to once every other year. He shot a black bear with a 147 ELD-M out of his 6.5 Creedmoor. I didn't know the east got bears that big, but he showed me a photo and it was a monster. I asked the weight and it was 740 lb. He has also shot three elk with that combo. He was picking up heavy 30 cal ELD-M for one mile competition in Georgia this week-end. My 6.5 PRC absolutely loves the 147 ELD-M, but I am reluctant to use it for hunting. I have had poor luck with the 140 ELD-M on coyote. For me they act like full metal beyond 300 yards.
