We would not be giving the legislature more power, it still comes down to a vote by we the people to change our constitution. The hatred for our local elected officials is intense, I get it, and for good reasons. In my opinion, a no vote is a vote for yielding to professional political influencers. To the so called progressives, who are actually socialist. Do we really want to shift to socialism, where everything is free and the government has a solution to all our so called issues. I vote a hard no on that. We need to protect our our laws and way of life from outside influencers who want to manipulate it. By giving elected officials more gatekeeping authority or raising the standard to amend the constitution, the state and we the people are better protected against outside progressive (socialist) groups trying to test experimental or radical policies that do not align with a traditional North Dakotan. Just my opinion, and again I believe we have good people serving in our state legislature. Not all are good, obviously, but overall I believe most are. If I am wrong, then our state is lost, and the march to socialism will go unchecked. Times have changed, and we are at a cross roads, just look at Minnesota and the mess those good people have, the voting majority is in Minneapolis and carries the whole state. Our forefathers never envisioned that we would be arguing about a socialist agenda vs a capitalist agenda I suspect, but here we are. Just my opinion, you can agree or disagree, I don't mean to stir the pot.
