Material is a little more but depending on roof style labor can be less. Also depending on storm intensity, metal will usually stand up to hail damage some better. Some dents might be visible on metal roofs but dents won't leak as quickly as holes in the asphalt. </p><p></p><p>One downside to metal is they can be more slippery to walk on after they get dusty. Perhaps it's that I have no desire to slide off the roof so I'm not inclined to go up. I see others go up with no problem.</p><p></p><p>Actually think it gets down to personal preference, Mostly I like the looks of my metal roof over the asphalt that was original.</p></blockquote><p></p>
