Message: <blockquote data-quote="ktm450" data-source="post: 448872" data-attributes="member: 5891">Have the metal roof on the house sense built in 2016.  Unfortunately this past summer the hail that came through finally took it out and its getting fully replaced, shop and house.  I did the roof on the house the very first time and saved a bunch of money on the labor costs.  After that though i vowed and said never again.  Way too much time and work cutting all the valleys and angles. lol  will do the shop and save on the labor.I have had zero issues with leaks that i know of.  will be interesting to see when they take the old roof off this spring/summer.Pros--neighbors have replaced their roofs 3 times already due to hail, to my zero.-when its windy, im not worried about loosing any shingles, if i loose tin, we got bigger problems.-very rarely do i have snow built up, can be below freezing and the heat from the sun shinging on the tin keeps the roof open for the most part. also helps with sewer vents freezing up.-insurance breakCons--Cost-  have gotten a couple quotes and im looking at 60-90k to do my house (this includes roof and gutters)-it is noisier, but not terrible. normal rain and smaller hail i dont tell a difference between it and having steel siding,  except when softballs fall from the sky, then it sounds like a gun is going off.  lol-it is slippery when dirty, wet etc.. i dont spend much time on the roof inspecting things, only after big storms or if i notice something.-i had to put a scotch brite pad like material under the snow catch i have on the roof to slow the water down, it would get going so fast that it would fly off the roof and miss the gutter and straight into the window wells.we have had many hail storms out there and the roof and siding have held up well. but when its big it can do some damage.some pics of the damage that finally did the roof in.  the same store put holes in the plywood roof of my camper.[ATTACH=full]75027[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]75028[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]75029[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]75030[/ATTACH][ATTACH=full]75031[/ATTACH]</blockquote>
