The dump I owned in GF had a wasp problem. They infested the overhang on the front porch. I thought I killed them once with a full can of bug killer squirted up in there, and then I plugged the hole with a can of expandable spray foam. A few hours later the bastards all found a way into the house! They were a little dizzy and several hundred were crawling around on the front picture window near the front of the house. The ex and I went to Menards and bought a couple cans of mint bug spray (seriously, it works but I haven't seen it since). I sprayed the hell out of those bastards and used the shop vac to pick them up. It made the whole house smell like mint for at least a week. We were fairly poor at the time, but until I made the mistake of plugging the hole with spray foam, it was almost entertaining. Even after this battle, there were still a few stragglers I would hear munching on the foam. We'd grab a beer, a swatter, and a can of spray and hang out on the front porch knocking them over into the neighbor's yard. An old house down the street was getting a new roof put on when they discovered an enormous wasp nest. They ended up having to shut down operations until they dealt with the wasps. During that time we got 4-6 inches of rain and with the roof exposed, it ruined the house and they ended up having it demolished. I had never been in the place to see how shitty it was in the first place, but having a house demolished because of a wasp nest is about as extreme of an infestation as I can imagine.
