Well, after being couped up, in the house, after all of that rain, we decided to do some fishing. After that big low system went through, we were wondering if the bite would be off, a bit. For us, it was. We still caught fish, but we resorted to trolling, which is something I try not to do much of, this time of year. We didn't get an early start. i don't think we even got there until almost 1:00. Once we got on the water we did a whole lot of driving around, and scanning. We started out pitching, but didn't find the concentration of fish we were wanting, for having 3 of us pitching jigs out of a boat. We had caught a few, but decided that trolling might be the better tactic for the day. We had a couple of bouncers/lindy's down and we drug/popped a few jigs. The dragging jigs did the best for us. We thought we would be spending the day out deeper, but we did end up fishing fairly shallow most of the day. We caught a couple in the 22-23 fow range, but most were in 16 fow, or less. When we drove south of the bridge, a few miles, we were running into 52-54 degree water. North of the bridge we found 57-58 degrees of water. We stayed north of the bridge, but I did hear of a group that did real well south (take that for what it's worth). Seeing a lot of nice fish being caught. It is shaping up to be a GREAT year on Sak! The Williston Rural Fire Department had a tournament the same day. Here are the results:
