And for those that want to complain about it being hard to keep youth interested in hunting, There's all kinds of opportunity to hunt game that aren't lottery tags, hell I'd rather chase roosters over the dog than most anything else; couple that with the fact that you can, dare I say it, put in for a "doe" tag which you will almost always draw within a year or two! But then again in today's world of I want the best, I want it now, and I don't want to wait because it's the me first world these days. Maybe I'm old school, but there's more to the hunt than just bagging a trophy buck and if people can't just enjoy the hunt if it doesn't have horns, well it tells me where our sport is headed. Frankly, we have way bigger issues in keeping youth involved than the lottery system; I can name some major ones that will shape our future; gun control and land access. Maybe we should work on those because without a long term solution, I don't care how they dole out tags as it won't matter.
