Oil boom came and now those homes are valued at 250k. And that’s no exaggeration.  Now their taxes are $2200+.  They were forced to sell and move to a small town somewhere.  Sure they got good money for their homes but they had to leave the only community they’ve ever known and their families.  I worked with an old guy that was in late 70’s when boom hit. He had a decent amount stuck away to retire and was going to.  He lived alone in a $250 a month apartment.  Bam in six months his rent was 2k a month.  He couldn’t afford to retire and continued to work until late 80’s when they found him dead in his apartment.  This shit is inexcusable.</p></blockquote><p></p>
