I finally got a deer tag for my unit. I was out scouting and noticed land that was posted and hadn't been posted in previous years that I've hunted. I know that I only get out for deer about every 5 years so I thought things must have changed. I know one of the farmers who had all his land posted and called and visited with him about hunting when the season opened. So I was told the reason for posting was because he has a gratis moose tag and posted for that. He also said that because he posted for moose, he decided to get the gratis deer tag also. He was kind enough to tell me he would call me when he was done hunting. he did call me but I had already filled my tag. So I think in the better moose areas, we are seeing more posted land for the gratis moose tags. I'm not even sure how the gratis moose tag works? I know I apply for a once in a lifetime tag.
I kinda wish my folks (They were rural city folks ) would have thrown me out and I was adopted by a farmer!
