Last time I had an involvement with guns in the rack in the back window of a pickup they were stolen in Bismarck by busting the back window out. That was in the 70s and they got a pre 64 model 94 and a older 22 pump I believe it was a Winchester that had been in the family for some time. That ended that. As I was told the story an older bachelor farmer a few years ago with guns in the rack in the back window was driving his pickup by the party in the hill they use to have in Bottineau years ago. There was security driving around and he drove past this rock and roll get together with his pickup. Security was not local and I guess it got to be a big thing with the security guards. So I imagine if one had guns in his back window today and drove to Walmart someone would report and they would have to answer to it even if legal. I own guns and believe in them but this recent ruling on concede weapons in ND is not what I prefer to see and I have told my kids how important it is to protect their rights to have. The guns will be handled down as long as they understand that. Yes it has changed and a lot not for the best but best that kids IMHO do not drive to school with guns in the rack (at least keep them hidden). Maybe on thing in small town but different in Fargo. One never knows now days. I was surprise when my youngest went to the U of M in Crookston that he was able to keep his shotgun in his dorm room 10 years ago. A lot of things changed as I had my first car at age 12. 52 Buick Super two door hardtop with a straight 8 dynaflow red with a black top. Paid 50 dollars and in time sold for $25 (and in prefect condition, a little worn as the lifters quit working once the oil got hot, so they were welded solid). No way in hell my kids had their own car at age 12 and then they found out I had one at age 12. db
