I am headed back to our forward camp about dusk. Coming down a steep slope covered with Aspen trees when I hear the sound of a cub bear bawl. I have watched enough TV shows and been to enough zoos to know. Hair stands up on my neck like porky quills and I cant place where sound is coming from but sounds like right on top of me. With my under powered 270 in one hand and my 44 mag in the other I go forward one little step at a time. I am sweating blood about this time. Then the sound is right above me and I look up and see two aspen branches slowly swaying in the evening wind and that is where the sound of baby bear is coming from. I have never been so relived in all my life. Didnt take me long to get back to camp after that.</p></blockquote><p></p>
