All of it was a blast and I hope everyone has a chance to experience Alaska, but the peace, quiet, and tranquility of my home section of the Sheyenne river with willing fish combined with the solemn communing with nature and sleeping in my own bed at the end of the day is just a bit higher on my enjoyment list these days. To be honest, I've been so blessed to have been able to fish some of the most amazing places from Alaska to Florida, from Chesapeake Bay to western Idaho, from Northern Canada to the Amazon Jungle, and even to the south Pacific a couple times. Again, I hope everyone gets a chance to fulfill their dream trips. However, traveling just doesn't hold the appeal it once did for me. I still enjoy pics from up your way though, so please post a few up every now and then for us flatlanders. Thanks!!
Alaska is an incredible place to fish. Been to Alaska 6 times and have fished some awesome locations. Mooched coho, pinks, and kings after hauling halibut, rock fish, and ling cod out of Homer and Seward, cast to reds and brilliant rainbow trout in the russian river, wade fished the kenai for kings and cohos, played the ship creek combat shuffle in Anchorage for cohos, danced with dolly varden on the homer spit along with cohos, and fished several places I don't have the faintest clue where I was. You're absolutely right when it comes to hooking a high teens coho in 2 ft of flowing water. Insanity just doesn't quite describe the spazzed out moves those fish make when you sink that hook into'em. I'm sure we could swap fish stories 'til we both forget our own names. Thanks!!
