fly2cast pretty much nails the money saving idea. I've been reloading since 1967 and haven't damaged a gun yet. Any reloading manual you read will tell you to examine what you just did to the case after every step of the process. Do this. Of course that makes progressive presses kind of...
I don't own a 270 of any flavor so have no experience with one, but I have a Tikka T3 6.5X55 (6.5 Swede) that's very accurate. It's also pleasant to shoot.
But buying a new hunting rifle just before the season opens is like buying a new shotgun of a different brand (and stock dimensions) just...
Either Outdoor Life or Field and Stream magazine had a comparison article a few months ago. Check their websites for trail camera comparison. I learned the actual pixel count of the image chips are far below the resolution advertised. It's like "digital zoom" in point and shoot digital...
When the JFK conspiracies die down, Pres. Trump can declassify the Defense Department's files on UFOs, like Bill Clinton promised, but didn't do. After that, there's Bigfoot. Let's get some real transparency!
I have Hankook All Terrain tires on my '09 crew dually. It carries a 4000# (loaded weight) truck camper without any problems, at least to Alaska and back last year, and all the way around Lake Superior this year.
When we had apple trees in our backyard, we had yellow jackets. they would also raid the hummingbird feeder until the feisty little birds ate enough of the wasps.
My solution was traps made from 2L pop bottles. Cut around the bottle near the shoulder, invert the top and stick it in the bottom...
It's much more dangerous if you look at the developing eclipse through binoculars, telescope, or telephoto camera lens. Of course the last one can destroy the camera as well. I've photographed eclipses through welding glass, and it worked.
A straight eyepiece is more intuitive to use. But for pickup use, an angled one will reqire less twisting in the truck seat. Remember the scope will swivel in its foot bracket, so the angled eyepiece doesn't have to point up, it can point sideways or anything between. I wanted to use my scope...
My Hornady puller is also convenient. I bought the press-mounted part for $28 via Amazon, but don't recall the price of collets. Those inertia pullers only work well with heavy bullets 180 grains or heavier.
