    Metal Roof Avalanche

    Could hold or prop the ice sheet on the roof using 2x6 or something similar, then spray the roof with a garden hose when its above freezing. Would be a hell of a mess on the ground after the water freezes, but better to have ice on the ground than on the roof.

    Fargo area - youth conservation projects/programs?

    River Keepers used to have tree planting projects along the river in Fargo and other activities for kids, but not sure if they still do. You could also check with the Fargo Park District, since they have courses in bird identification.
