People only have so much money to spend, allowing more hours for spending wont increase the overall $$$ each person is spending. Likely this will cost businesses more than it will profit them...

Spot on !!!!! Before boot barn --- i cant remember the name of the western store -- but they would have special permission to close sunday in the mall --- they said it was profit related. Walmart and Mendards they are busy stocking the store. Hell walmart you can barely get someone to check you out anymore -- they are the ones that will not notice it one bit and gain from it as they have the same help in numbers.

In the online shopping world -- i would think that stores would be watching payroll more then ever and may do 6 days a week and closed on Monday or something like that.

There is a way to stop all this. Is if everyone would not go shopping online or in a store on sundays. My family does not shop or go out to eat on sundays. Its church and family time.

Family time is important. But requiring that time to be on Sunday isn't any different than requiring businesses to be closed on Sunday. Family time is the time spent together as a family, not necessarily on a specific day.

I hope most don't change their hours and make the lawmakers who pushed for this look like idiots. The only good thing from this bill is the decision is up to the business owners.

I never understood how these laws were constitutional to begin with. An owner should be "Free" to be open whenever they want.

I hate the smell of cigarettes, but feel a business should not be forced to smash all the ash trays.
I plan on doing all my shopping Sunday mornings.

Now people can understand why I say we have a two party system, perverts and money worshipers. Simply watch society if you think I am wrong. Enjoy today things are going to get worse.

So the pervert are the priest who sexually molest little boys and then the church covers it up I agree with that. I heard the pastor that “confirmed “ me just got out of prison after doing 5 for kiddy porn. I will take the money worshippers over the church perverts

Roadie I'll take a shot at how Sunday closings came about. Nearly all if not all (some will disagree) of our founding fathers were Christian, hence the first amendment that states Congress shall form no religion. Notice how the perverters have changed that. So they read the commandments that say remember the Sabath day and keep it Holy. The business has rights, but so do employees. However if employees resist they will suffer. There are no easy answers. I dont think the commandment means you cant work, it says remember the sabath and keep it Holy. My personal decision is to go to church for worship, but I often work on something in the afternoon.

If shopping is bad so is fishing and hunting on Sunday mornings. Where does it say in the Bible I have to go to brick and mortar buildings and give money ?

So I can believe shopping in Walmart just the same as sitting in the pew.

Hebrews 10:25. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Nothing barring you from a nice Sunday morning trip to Wally World

Then Jesus said,"the Sabbath was made for men, not men made for the Sabbath." Mark 2:27

As one who had worked part-time while going to grad school, while working full time, with twin toddlers; IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO RELAX every now and then. I once went 18 weeks without a day off. Damn near killed me.

I don't think it truly matters when you take time off. Only that you do. Otherwise, life sucks.
