Any of you guys ever replace the sending unit on your gas tanks? As the summer has gone on mine has gotten worse. It started with jumping around a little at the beginning of the season but could rely on it to know how much fuel I had. Now it just jumps between full and empty. Checked all wiring this spring and the connections at the gauge.

I have a 2000 Alumacraft 175 Trophy Sport, can I get a new sending unit from a dealer or is there an after market manufacturer for the parts. Would really like to take care of it this fall before I put the boat away.

Screw the sending unit. Get a NMEA fuel flow module, plug it into your fish finder/GPS unit and you'll know within a few 10ths of a Gal how much you've used. Forget about the bouncy needle.
