Was looking at the pulsar 1200w generator to run lights in my portable fish house. Wondering if anyone has any news about this brand, good, bad, or indifferent. It shows it runs at 65 decibles, which is I think 5 more than Honda. Thanks.

Good question. I never could convince myself to run a generator. I've always run 12v deep cycle batteries with a power converter. Covers an entire weekend for me. Lights/tv/etc.

Drop the $1000 on a Honda 2000 and never look back. If you regret it, you have my permission to call me an idiot.

I just received my Honda 2000 this week. Ordered it from electricgeneratordepot.com for only $859. My buddy bought one last year for his fish house and loves it. I can't believe how quiet it is and with a weight of only 46 lbs it's easy to tote around.

The pulsar I was looking at weighs 38 pounds. The price on it is $149. Was just wondering if they are worth a shit or not.

I have those also. Just want to nix the lantern so it's 1 less thing to watch out for with the kids not burning themselves. Ages 10,8,6, and almost 3.

$149 seems cheap. Remember you get, what you pay for.

Go with Honda 1000. Can always hook it up in series if needed. I guess it depends on your future needs for a generator. You might want to make a wind block if its sitting out in the open.

I wholeheartedly agree W/Ahab. 2K Honda is enough to run a chest freezer on a warm-weather early antelope or archery deer hunt, as well as power all your ice-fishing stuff.

Used yamaha or Honda off bisman. Make sure you get an invertor generator so it idles not runs wide open. For a little less coin Champion makes invertor generators that shoul run along time for half the price of a Honda. Champion has good reviews an I know a few guys that run the and non of them ever had an issue.

I work for a case dealership and bought the eu2000 there. It says case on it but I think it's a Honda and it was a lot cheaper than a Honda. Even looks like a honda

65db is going to be quite loud. Almost twice what a Honda/Yamaha will be.

keeps the pirates, and looky lou's away.

skee roo that - I get sick of the vexilar alone (the 28 even)

we do field projects all the time and they are outdoors "in the sticks" - all based on Honda 1000 and 2000s for powering our systems

and even though we are wearing hearing protection all the time it is PURE SWEETNESS to turn them stupid things off at the end of the day

a louder one? um... NO.
