SDMF, Close. The Siamese Mauser is rebarreled for the 45.70 bolt gun. 6.5 Arisaka is not strong enough.

Arisaka. Not a very strong action, but many were converted to relatively low pressure 45-70’s. A friend has one. Hasn’t blown up yet.....

Does it still have the mum (flower) on the top of the receiver or was it ground off before your grandpa got a hold of it?
