To all fisherman, hikers, hunters anyone in general, in the area of four bears bridge, the casino or vicinity, please keep on the lookout for my cousin. Chad Kanine went missing on Sunday, June 11. They were jet skiing in the area. This is now considered a recovery effort. His parents and many others have searched. My uncle is a Vietnam Veteran and Chad was his only son and best friend. Please contact authorities if you see anything out of the ordinary. We are hoping for closure. Chad also had an 18 yr old son. He is 41 years old last seen wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Thank you, please keep our family in your prayers.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Second time this summer already. I wish for quick closure for your family.

I gotta ask (for the sake of those who think they don't need them) was he wearing a lifejacket?

One is required by law for all jetskiiers

No.

It's still a sad deal though. Just didn't need to happen.

Come on guys don't be D-bags. I am sure the family doesn't need to be lectured on water safety at this time. My prayers to the family.

No no, I wasn't meaning to lecture or anything. I've done it too. it's a bad situation for sure. And like I said, I'm sad that it happened, and hope they find him quickly.

I'm with JayKay, no lecture intended. It is, regrettably, a legitimate question for those wondering how a day of fun in the sun can turn south so quickly and terribly.

And, this accident has affected friends of my family who knew him, so like I've said, it's just a sad, sad deal.

Family friends had a couple jet skis growing up. One time I was excited to take one out and hopped on and took off. Ended up falling off and realized I forgot the jacket. Good thing I could swim ok at the time. Never forgot one after that.

Missing jet skiier: Chad Kanine

Terrible deal, sorry for the misfortune. :(
Thanks everyone for the prayers. We aren't offended by the life vest comments. We feel the same. He has always been a bit of a daredevil. We appreciate all the prayers and well wishes. The search continues and they have combed the obvious. I feel whoever finds Chad may not be looking for him. Please spread the word to others and keep a lookout for out of the ordinary. He has some very distinguishing tattoos. There is a FB page to those of you who have it
Bring Chad Home
Thanks again
Jennifer

Sorry for your loss and I actually appreciate your feeling toward the life jacket. I don't think at all that people are trying to be offensive and this is real life example of what can happen if people don't wear them. Unfortunately your family has to deal first hand with the tragedy.

Bummer, every time I see this thread bumped up I am hoping it is to let people know he's been found.
