Ok so I'm looking at these new fangled carbon units. the side and down images are amazing, but what is the difference between the structure scan 3d and total scan? looks like just a ducer do I need both ducers to get both working? And if I had 2 units do they share everything across the network? I'm thinking of putting a 9&12 in with my 10 onix to keep my mapping and get best of everything

Total scan is a fancy word for ‘everything’ scan.
the old Lowrance units needed two transducers, one for 2D sonar, one for di/si.
Now it’s all built into one transducer, called total scan.

Why is the 3d one more expensive then? Does it do the total + 3d?

YouTube 3D. It’s more than that. It’s like a real 360 degree view of everything

Been a few years but I remember lowrance was having major issues with updating, guyz that hung in there with lowrance said they would have to update every 30days,a real pain if the updates didn't download and they were fishing the circut, most jumped ship to the Bird.
