R.I.P. Bud

I had the oppurtunity to spend a few hours talking to Bud back around the early 90's. Was a very humble and nice guy to talk with. He was an avid hunter. RIP

My cousin used to hunt with him quite a bit. He said he was just an outstanding guy

I meet him a few times at Goosefest in Kenmare yrs ago. He was a very humble man and had a passion for Waterfowl hunting.

Seems he lived a life as full as a human could ever dream.

Read an interesting story about how he got caught in the Armistice Day blizzard in 1940 while duck hunting and they holed up in a cabin for a few days, presumed dead.

My grandpa had talked about meeting him out duck hunting and spoke very highly of him.

I wish I could have seen him coach - he was before my time. Seems like he should have run for President of the ol' USA.....

One thing about Bud Grant, if you met him and football would come up, it didn't matter to him what team you favored, he just liked to talk football.
Very intelligent man and very down to earth.
Need more people like Mr. Grant.

He never allowed touchdown celebrations from his players, instead telling them, "Act like you have been here before!" Can you even imagine how that would go over in today's society??

Bud would not accept that running down to the endzone to the cameras after an interception or whatever. Makes me want to puke. Its your fricken job to make a defensive stand for gods sakes, not to make an asshole of yourself.
Next time you finish a report on time and take it to your boss, I dare you to celebrate like those jackwagons do, and see how that goes over.

Ole Bud, many great memories....doesn't seem that long ago I witnessed Bud nose to nose with Clyde bellcourt,Bud was fighting against the natives gill netting Minnesota 's premiere walleye lake,Mille lacs lake,but this dates back to mid 90's,time flies,natives won that battle,sadly.
