MT looks to be getting a decent rain out of this. Maybe a touch more runoff for the big lake?

Looks like some good rain in Canada they need it really bad. Hopefully get the may pond count up and stop the down turn in the mallard population

I'm just south of the border It's been raining hard for 8 hours, wind is so strong that the gauges haven't caught much , a lot on the ground but only 1/4 " in the gauge.

As dry as the soils are/were, those had better be thunderstorms with high rainfall rates, otherwise it's all going into the ground. Farmers should be LOVING this past couple of weeks.

Sure they like it but I bet most would like about a weeks break, so they could get into the field for prep work or no-till. Farmer did get 2 fields seeded by my place.

Looks like some solid totals from the last 24 hours between Miles City and Wolf Point, and it looks like it will rain pretty much all day today as well. Probably won't do much for lake levels but can't hurt! Hopefully more timely rains throughout May and June.

we got some looks to be better north of here. Breeding conditions should be pretty good this year for the waterfowl and even should have good bugs when the upland birds hatch

The "city" hatches of the local Canada geese appear to be shitty this year. Many breeding pairs without goslings and most only have 3-4. They'll usually at least try another nest but I haven't seen that this year either. I found it strange as the environment/weather has been fairly "average" this year.

Just an observation from an uneducated and purely recreational ornithologist.
