I agree, we would hunt them North of Killdeer on some of the ranchs there. We would shoot them off the manure piles or feed bunks in the mornings and they were back that afternoon.

Probably as good or better than "truly wild" turkeys - since manure is chock full of bits of grain/corn/etc. Also - tons of good bugs live in and under patties or in manure piles.
I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to eat birds that get their chow from cow patties. I wonder if those people with incredible tasting ability could actually tell?
