I don’t know, I actually preferred this half time show over several of the more recent ones I can remember. Last one I thought was good was Prince probably. Yesterday I saw more real musical instruments than I have in quite awhile, and while I know I’m not the same age as some of you and I’m as light skinned as most of you, this was actually music from my high school and college days (aside from Kendrick Lamar, whoever that is) so it was sort of nostalgic. Plus I actually recognized the half time music for a change.
If you can try to overlook the politics and shady past of the performers, and the players, and the media covering the events, and most of the celebrity crowd, and everything related to music and sports and TV these days, and remember we’ve all probably done and said some shady things in our day as well, it wasn’t that bad IMO. Best thing is that you always have the option to turn the shit off and not bitch about it if you don’t like it. You still at least have that freedom in America…although most people would rather watch it and exercise their right to piss and moan and complain.
On a side note, it appears the 50 cent, Dr. Dre, and Mary J got their fair share of couch time rather than gym time over the COVID years.
As for the football, this was the third game I’ve watched in 3 years…all 3 were Super Bowls. It was just nice not to see a flag every play, because let’s be honest - there are penalties on just about every play and during some games there is a flag thrown almost every down. I did find it interesting that there were more flags in the final 2 minutes than the entire first 46 minutes.
