    Netting report shows mostly walleye and less than year before. Hardly any pike or perch. It’s been slow but some are being caught.

    Gotta love the creative math some ranchers have. It costs roughly $1000 to raise a 6 weight calf. Some a bit more, some less.     They have definitely bastardized the original intent of the muzzle loader season. When the season first opened it was easy to get a tag. No one wanted to mess with those stinky unreliable smoke poles. If they went back to primitive only I believe it would open things up for more available tags...

    Well, that was kind of my point. They used to be smaller, lighter and go more places. But now they are the same weight and size as a small pickup. And comparing a full sized pickup to a small side by side, of course it works better.

    We have a couple SxS’s and several four wheelers. They are and unfortunate necessity when you have cattle. They didn’t cost $50,000 if you add them all together. With what these new ones weigh and how big they are, the advantage of having one is completely lost.
