    My first custom rifle

    I bought a Kimber in 280AI last fall. I generally use TTSX for everything big game. No exception here. 140gr with Ram Shot Hunter pushed at the max which TTSX's always seem to like. I'm getting really good groups with this out of a 24" barrel and light rifle. TTSX is a great elk bullet.

    I've got a Kenetrek Corrie 3.2 that has been good for me. Bought for earlier season. Cabela's Meindl is the best as far as comfort. I once put them on for the first use as I had forgotten I bought them, for an Idaho elk hunt with Kurt R. Toughest hunt ever for me. No issues with feet. Down side...

    Boat camping?

    Take a tent and camp on shore. Did it frequently on Sak when I was a kid. Nice to have a fire, hot food and the like. Fish til midnight or so. We had nights with excellent fishing. Running at night the shoreline tends to look like it's straight so GPS to find camp again would be helpful. Back...

    If you're gonna ride you have to accept the risk for what it is. For me it's something I'm not willing to give up. Every year when I put it away I think to myself I'm surprised I made it through another year. Everyone still dies so might as well do things that keep you sane and happy.

    sl1000794 Suspect Snow was talking about pinks and other non desireables that frequently get caught in Alaska, or what is typically available at the store. Pacific Silver's (Coho's) are very good, not quite like a King but much better than anything you can buy in a store.
