    Things on my mind...

Now where would the tag for the buck I shot in 1972 be? Not sure that it was even required by the taxidermist back then.

with the shortage of most everything, who knows if we will even have any ice?

    Luggage rack advice needed!

Don't know if it is recommended but several years ago I used one of those cloth bags designed to cover luggage/packages/etc on my Traverse with no problems. Didn't have anything really heavy to put much pressure on the roof and didn't have any problems. This comment comes with no warranty.

    Homicide ? Alec Baldwin

IJ'm not trying to make an excuse for Baldwin but hunter's are shot every year by other hunters's and we write it off as "Feel so sorry for both" in this unfortunate accident instead of calling for a hinging. I've been a Hunter Ed Instructor for many years and every year we talk about shooting...

    Over\Under shotgun

Worth it? That depends I guess on what you want to pay for an O/U. I have 2, a 20ga and a 12ga. Really like them for upland, use the 20 the most and have been using the 12 on waterfowl this fall and like that as well. Cost is a concern for many but if you look around you can find really nice...

    Medical Billing

Knock on wood for me. I feel lucky that I've never experienced some of the issues many of you have. Don't remember having an incorrect bill, not that I go through them with a fine tooth comb. And have been lucky I guess that all the treatments have been satisfactory and in many cases more than...

How many men still know how to butcher???

I know how and so do my kids and most of the grandkids have at least learned enough to do it if necessary. Also enjoy making sausage and other goodies. Have a small group who shares a sausage making day. Good chance to make some sausages as well as share a beverage of two (and usually more)...

    Youth Deer Season

Beautiful scenery but no way in hell I'm hiking on that trail. Don't have a fear of heights, but do have a fear of falling. There must be a nice buck someplace that thinks like me.

    Youth Deer Season

I have always been a proponent of the 14 year old rule for no other reason than that's what I grew up with as well as my kids. Having also been a HE instructor for more than 30 years I also know that kids mature at different ages. An example would be a young man or woman who has grown up hunting...

    Youth Deer Season

I'm not so fussy on the start age but I definitely like the idea of some guaranteed tags up to about the age of 18. In a lot of units they get started with a couple tags and then have to wait sometimes 5-7 years for another tag. Doesn't do much for keeping them interested IMO. I know there are...

    M10 Cow Moose

I drove Hwy 5 from Mohall to Crosby. Occasionally drove north or south a few miles to hunt. You might find a moose anywhere along that road. There are actually moose crossing signs on Hwy 5 west of Mohall. My experience with moose is it's a scouting trip by driving, not walking. unless you...

    M10 Cow Moose

Hunted pheasants in that area last fall. There was no shortage of moose. Have heard that many landowners are helpful. When you're there I would make some visits and see what you find. My experience is that many landowners are helpful when looking for moose and usually also helpful when it come...

    McKayla Maroney

There was a comment towards the end of Blumenthal's questioning from Rosenthal. It basically said there needs to be work to determine what is legal and what is illegal on this type of investigation. Really? What kind of a mind would think any part of this investigation was legal and more...

    McKayla Maroney

When I first heard about this hearing I wondered why are they spending time investigating where the guy is in jail for175 years. That and why would you put these young women through this again? Listened to a couple of the testimonies and then realize it's not about Nassar, it's about the failure...

    Ode to my Remy

Great story but I need to comment on the pictures. There is just something so personal about a hand-painted picture. My son has a hand-printed picture of his on-his-own first dog. so personal. Nice Job.

    Nfl kickoff!!

I like Football. NFL is not my favorite but do watch it some. Prefer College Football. The NFL as made some bad decisions in my opinion but don't blame all the players. At the end of a game on Sunday there were many players from both teams kneeliing on the filed in prayer not in protest. They...

    waterfowl blind....NOT layout

No argument that digging in a blind might No argument that digging in a blind would (might) help. Problem is that I've never met a landowner that like holes in their field. Guarantee that when asking permission to hunt if the question includes "Do you mind if we dig pits?" the...

    Partridge opener

Been running a combine for a friend this fall and have been seeing lots of coveys. saw a covey yesterday that must have had 20 birds in it. Most have closer to the standard 6-10.

    Ode to my Remy

All of us who have had a pet, especially a hunting dog pet, can relate to this. Pretty sure it's going to result in a tear or two before you're done.

    Which pickup to buy?

I'm either a good suggestion or not, depends on your opinion and my thinking. Since about the late 1970's I've had quite a few pickups. I generally trade about every 4 years usually now. I've owned 1 Ford, (didn't like it much) and the remainder have been Chevy's. Rarely have had an issue. Did...
