    Never ever ever ever ever ever never ever did you hear me say that an 870 is a poor shotgun choice. Though if I were forced to shuck shells myself it'd likely be a 12/25 or a 37. I had a kick-ass gorgeous 37 20ga mod choke that I let someone talk me out of and I wince when I think about it too...

    You could cut strips of marine plywood the proper thickness and inlet the strips for the screws to hold them in place, plus, if you did it right your floor would be totally flat. Let your OCD chew on THAT 'til spring!

    Hyfax shouldn't even be an option, they oughta be on there from the get-go. 1/4mi pull down pavement/blacktop with a heavy loaded house sans Hyfax can easily = some mighty thin spots.

    No jackplate but if I were buying a brand new boat today, it'd have the new 72" shaft. The best trolling motor/boat combo I ever had was a 65# AutoPilot w/60" shaft on a 1978 Lund Mr. Pike.
