The GOOD things & changes you're seeing in this mess?

The getting outside & workout deal has also been a good change I agree. Lots more people out and about, even for a walk. My perspective has changed during it too. I went for a lunch gravel bike ride, short, 30 minutes. Incredible day, warm, hardly any wind. Strange for the world to be so...

The GOOD things & changes you're seeing in this mess?

I've seen and heard discussions about the good things folks are seeing or changes they are experiencing as part of the coronavirus mess. Instead of focusing all on the bad, some observations I have made that are good- -I am in the education line of work. The challenges that are being met are...

Rapid and Spearfish both now I've heard.

    Corona Virus....How Long?

I would say peak of new cases in May. Tapering down from there. Still will be hotspots like others have said. By the end of summer it will be dwindling. In SD, I don't foresee us going back to school this year. Economically, I don't think it will be "the same" even in a year. Those...

Time to buy a new pickup?

My '10 Chevy is just starting to do the same. Mine has been washed about the same and in SD with plenty of salt as well. My dad's '13 is doing it too. Just rock chips and above the rear wheels. Seems comparable to most other brands I have encountered.

Better question, is anyone killing any?

Trolling swimbaits or other soft plastics for walleyes?

Yes I'm talking more spread out fish. Big flats that you'd usually run cranks over. It would be slower and less efficient though. In shallower water, I do agree that lighter would work. Obviously as speed increases or depth, bigger would be better.

Trolling swimbaits or other soft plastics for walleyes?

I saw some stuff that the Next Bite had coming out on trolling swimbaits for walleyes. I did not see the episode though. I've read for years in In-Fisherman about swimbaits but haven't used them much. I don't do enough casting and the few times I have the results have been iffy. But trolling...

New run on guns and ammo?

I'm screwed if we are preparing for the apocalypse. But, I do work with a guy who went nuts on AR's and .22 ammo when Obama got in. He has shown me photos and claims to have over 30k rounds of .22 ammo. He was putting himself on wait lists when .22 ammo was tight. Same guy also has an entire...

    0 % interest

I don't get why they did it already. Save it for later in this mess. Interest rates don't matter at all if nobody has confidence to buy, let alone leave their house. Right now we are telling people to not go anywhere, afraid they may not have a job, etc. Zero consumer confidence right now. I...

    Walleye Trolling Direction Matters?

I have seen both, though I would say more often than not it is going with the wind. But, I also prefer to troll with the wind, boat control is better and you don't have to be on the wheel or tiller every second. So that could skew my stats too. Current has been a player some days, even with...

    PP Handgun- Need some advice

Oh I think there are many out there who haven't asked themselves this question. I have thought about it a lot! But, the shotgun in the house is a good idea. Still sorting through the handgun selection, XD Mod 2 or the Sig are at the top of the list right now. Thanks for the input.

    Concrete home

I agree with the ICF/SIPS house. The new ICF systems are unquestionably better than even a few years ago. Send them a plan and they send you a lego set to put together. You still have to have the talent to make sure it ends up level/plumb/square though. And bracing when dealing with tall...

    PP Handgun- Need some advice

I'm finally crossing the bridge into getting a handgun for home/personal protection. The use will be at home locked up in a quick access safe, traveling, and camping in the far reaches. I most often have some sort of firearm available, but not easy access or small. I'm not a fear monger and...

    Confidence Crank

Firetiger Shad Rap. I could pull #5's and #7's anywhere and have full confidence in them. Second would be Purpledescent Shad Rap's, then maybe Pearl White Shad Rap's. We had a nutso trip on Sak a few years ago with Bomber 24A's. Same thing a couple years on Oahe with Salmo Hornets. But I...

    Snowshoes

The MSR Lightning Ascent is a great one. The bindings aren't my favorite BUT they may go big enough for bunny boots. I have an Atlas set that has incredible bindings, but they will only fit a hunting boot, nothing really bigger. The MSR's have the best side bite of any snowshoe I've used...

    Mobridge Ice Fishing Results.

How was the access? That is the toughest part. If you want to go north, where can you get on? It has been a few years but last time I tried to access off Ritter's the gates were locked and everything posted. Could have went down a few ways but didn't feel like trespassing. Any with snow...

    If you didn't hunt/fish

I'd mountain bike, ski, run, camp. I still do those things along with hunt and fish, probably even more so now. Hunting is going farther and farther by the wayside, just too much trouble finding a place to hunt the stuff I enjoy around my area.
