    I was wondering why not just put a conservative amount of boost to a tried and true V8 to give a guy about 500hp and a about 600ftb of torque? Seems too logical I guess. Let’s pour time and gobs of money into developing new hamster wheel 4’s and 6’s.

    What I meant by this is why not put a mild amount of boost to a modern day V8 instead of boosting the pooey out of 4s and 6s? Mileage maybe? Hair dryer is slang for turbo BTW.

    If you aren't planning on keeping it past warrantee, I don't see a guy really caring about the drivetrain. The 5.0 with a catback system and a higher flowing intake might not be a bad idea to get closer to the eco performance without sacrificing long term reliability.
