Math issues? Common sense issues? where to start?

Mr Stevenson, A long time ago I read an article that stated there is a specific region of the brain that deals with math. I would suppose this region may vary person to person. That being said, one thing that helped me was realizing math is a language. It is the language that describes the real...

Math issues? Common sense issues? where to start?

Great thread, have been there and done that. Brokenback has it with the deer in the headlights look. On occasion I take the time to walk the cashier through the process if there is no line behind me. It is different times. Who needs knowledge when the internet has all the answers? Just click...

    Carpentry question?

ND Sportsman, looks good, be sure everything is very dry when put in there. I do not see any way this is ventilated. Any moisture in there when the doors close will stay there. Be glad you built it when you did. 2x4 are up to $7.50. I am putting any woodworking projects on hold for a year or two.

    Old Musky

Hey I thought this thread was about a new cologne guaranteed to make fish jump in your boat. Agree the fish seems small for age.

    Possible rolling blackouts

When you have only localized energy and have a region wide event, regardless of cause, you will have serious issues. Oklahoma is on the grid that stretches to ND. Hence they have power. Most of Texas relies on one supplier not tied to grid, hence the power failures. natural gas power generation...

    Shop/man cave project

Thriller, the only advice I can give is start on paper, research, draw again and research some more. Once the hammer hits the nail, do not change or the cost will exponentially grow.

    Shop/man cave project

Excellent work. Was the barn siding sourced onsite or did you have to scrounge from other locations?

    Oklahoma Bigfoot Season

While I find the proposed season a good excuse to get away, I fear it will lead to no good press for ethical hunters. The other downside I see is someone being injured/killed while out bow hunting in a ghillie suit. Shooting at "Zombie Apocalypse" paper targets is fun. Having a legal season for...

    Hardwood Floor Resurfacing

I did the 2nd floor of my century house, Started on the stairs. Turned out they were not varnished floors but had originally been oiled. Talk about clogging a sander quickly. Used the drum sander on a 2500 sqft loft with 5/8" fir flooring. went fast but the edges and corners till had to be done...

    Garage Attic Access

ndbwhunter try a wood frame with an foam insulated plywood hatch cover. you could use latches or velcro to secure it and the insulation above will work better than a piece of drywall. Easy to make and prevents heat loss through gaps.

Ice Fishing MYTHS that never die.

BP338 Allen is correct, ice bridging can occur when water levels drop after the body of water has frozen. Asked a gentleman in Leadville Colorado about ice fishing the mountain lakes. His response was no way. The lakes are used to supply the city of Denver drinking water. He told me if they pull...

    Oak Flooring Question

Thanks gentleman, Some of the homes I looked at had repaired flooring that would not be up to my usual standards. I am curious as to why the floors were installed in this fashion, more labor/time to install, more fasteners per square foot, so overall higher cost per square foot. Wirehair, maple...

    Oak Flooring Question

Looking at homes built in the 40-50's. I have never seen narrow (1 1/2" wide) flooring. Can not tell if this is tongue and groove like 3" - 3 1/2" boards. Some homes have repaired these floors with boards nailed from top of board instead of side toenailed. Any of our resident experts have any...

How to preserve hunting when all land is posted

Before moving to ND, everywhere I have hunted was by landowner permission. If you were stopped by G&F while hunting around private land you had better have that written permission or you were facing fines. Did this prevent me from hunting, no. I made some wonderful friendships from this. As to...
